Streaming giant Netflix has released its latest big cinematic offering, Bird Box.
The film, directed by The Night Manager's Susanne Bier, focuses on a dark future where an unseen force plagues the planet and prompts mass distress and suicides - but only if its victims lay their eyes on it.
Those who survive must ensure they cannot see the unknown villains, with the tale taking a focus on expectant mother Malorie.

Sandra Bullock as Malorie Hayes
Oscar-winner Bullock portrays the lead character of Malorie in the film.
Bullock is best known for her turns in the Miss Congeniality films, Two Weeks Notice, Crash, The Proposal, The Heat, and this year's Ocean's 8.
Sandra won her Oscar for her performance in Sports biopic The Blind Side, and was later nominated for her lead role in sci-fi drama Gravity.
Trevante Rhodes as Tom
Rhodes plays the role of fellow survivor and Malorie's closest friend after the attacks begin, Tom.
Trevante is best known for his role as Chiron/Black in Oscar-winning drama Moonlight, which earned him widespread acclaim/
He also appeared in the films 12 Strong and The Predator earlier this year, while in 2017 he appeared in Jay Z music video Family Feud.
Rhodes has also modelled for Calvin Klein.
Jacki Weaver as Cheryl
Weaver portrays a survivor named Cheryl.
Jacki has been twice Oscar-nominated, for her turns in gangster drama Animal Kingdom, and in comedy drama Silver Linings Playbook.
The Australian actress is an iconic of Australian New Wave cinema, but also featured in recent Hollywood films such as Widows, The Disaster Artist and Magic in the Moonlight.
Rosa Salazar as Lucy
Salazar portrays a panicked fellow survivor named Lucy.
Rosa is best known for her turns in comedy series Parenthood and in the first season of American Horror Story.
Having appeared in young adult dystopian series Divergent and The Maze Runner, Salazar will likely find further attention after her appearance in the titular role of Alita: Battle Angel.
Danielle Macdonald as Olympia
Macdonald portrays heavily pregnant survivor Olympia.
Danielle is best known for her lead roles in both hip-hop drama Patti Cake$ and in the recent Netflix drama Dumplin' alongside Jennifer Aniston.
Lil Rel Howery as Charlie
Howery plays survivor and wannabe author Charlie.
The actor is best known for his career as a stand-up comedian, but has also had roles in the films Tag and Jordan Peele horror Get Out, the latter of which won him an MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Comedic Performance.
Tom Hollander as Gary
Hollander portrays a mysterious fellow survivor who arrives later in the film.
The actor is known for his stage work, film roles such as in Pirates of the Caribbean and In the Loop, along with series such as drama Doctor Thorne and sitcom Rev.
Tom has worked with Susanne Bier before on television series The Night Manager, for which he won a BAFTA television award for Best Supporting Actor.
BD Wong as Greg
Wong portrays intelligent survivor Greg.
The Broadway star is well known for his Tony Award-winning turn in M. Butterfly, but also appeared in television series Law & Order: SVU, Oz, and Awake.
Film fans will know Wong from Seven Years in Tibet, as Dr. Henry Wu in the Jurassic Park franchise, and as the voice of Li Shang in Disney's Mulan.
Colson Baker (Machine Gun Kelly) as Felix
Baker plays the flirtatious survivor known as Felix.
The actor is best known for his career as rapper Machine Gun Kelly, with his hit singles Wild Boy, Invincible, Stereo and Hold On (Shut Up).
In his acting roles, Baker has appeared in the films Beyond the Lights and Viral.
Sarah Paulson as Jessica Hayes
Paulson portrays Malorie's close sister, Jessica.
The Golden Globe winner has had a long television career in American Gothic, Jack & Jill, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, every season of anthology series American Horror Story, and her award-winning turn as Marcia Clark in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.
Paulson has also appeared in films such as 12 Years a Slave, Carol, The Post, Blue Jay, and Ocean's 8 alongside on-screen sister Bullock.
John Malkovich as Douglas
Malkovich portrays the antagonistic survivor, Douglas.
The actor has received Oscar nominations for his turns in Places in the Heart and In the Line of Fire, but is also known for turns in Con Air, The Killing Fields, Being John Malkovich, Shadow of the Vampire, Burn After Reading, Red and Red 2, Dangerous Liaisons and Warm Bodies.
John has also been a fashion designer.
